BIOB 400 - Bioethics: Medicine, Animals, and the Environment

This course will critically evaluate ethical positions related to issues in medicine, the moral status of animals, and our responsibilities to the environment. Through reading and analyzing primary literature in philosophy and biology, students will learn how to use logic and reason to evaluate and formulate arguments for and against important bioethical perspectives. Students will learn how to write philosophical papers, think critically, avoid logical fallacies, and develop valid and sound verbal and written arguments in favor of their positions. Prerequisite: Junior/Senior standing; c/i. (occasional)
