EDU 385 - Mathematics for K -8 Schools With Pedagogy I

Developing mathematical thinking in K-8 students, part I. Candidates examine the research on teaching and learning mathematics. Candidates develop skills in and strategies for assisting children to develop problem-solving and computation skills, number sense and number concepts, and meanings for the operations. Candidates develop skills in assisting children to work with real and rational numbers, place value, mental computation and estimation, fractions, decimals, percents, ratio, proportion, algebra, functions, and variables.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to TEP.
