EDU 490S - Undergraduate Research in Science Education 4 Credit(s) This course aligns with student teaching as a capstone experience requiring students to integrate and implement mathematical modeling pedagogies in science classroom instruction. Mathematical models in physiology, modern physics, and astronomy will be explored. Teacher candidates will then work with education and science faculty to develop a mathematical model on a topic of interest as well as a pedagogical strategy for its use in inquiry instruction. Candidates will collect information on their classroom teaching experiences and present findings at the university’s annual undergraduate research symposium. Prerequisite(s): EDU 497S (fall/spring).
